I feel pretty, and that feels good!

• I really made a difference in my volunteer work today. After slogging thru 90 minutes of tedious reading, my student — a 4th grade girl who is not a native speaker of English — was visibly, overwhelmingly proud of herself. She said, “I never thought I could do something like that!”
• Two friends in two days have told me they’re proud of me.
• Walking my dog in gorgeous 70-degree weather without a cloud in the sky makes me grateful to be alive.
